Does Forkiee work on any menu?
Yes. Point your camera at a printed menu, a handwritten board or a menu on a screen, in any language, and Forkiee reads it and answers in yours. If it can't read something clearly, it tells you instead of guessing.
Which languages does it speak?
It reads menus in any language. The app, its answers and your allergy card come in English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish and Japanese.
How reliable are the allergy checks?
Forkiee checks every dish against your allergies, traces included, using what the menu says and what the dish usually contains. Kitchens change and recipes vary, so it also hands you the question to ask the waiter and an allergy card to show the kitchen. Always confirm a serious allergy with the staff.
Are the calories exact?
No, they are estimates for a typical portion, and Forkiee marks them that way. Our restaurant guides use each chain's own published nutrition.
Can I see where my friends ate?
Yes, with Friends. Follow the people you eat with and the tables they share appear as photo pins on your map: what they ordered, whether they loved it and, if they chose to share it, how the staff handled their allergies. Save the ones you want to try to Want to go, and choose who sees your own tables.
What happens to my photos and data?
Your Taste Passport and your past tables are kept on your phone. Photos you take of a menu, a bill or your plate are sent to Forkiee only so it can read them, and Forkiee's servers don't keep them. If you join Friends, the tables you share there, with their photos, are stored so the people you allow can see them, and you can hide any of them. There are no ads in Forkiee, and your data is never sold.
